It has offered a new credit card that allows shoppers to double the number of Qantas Frequent Flyers points earned on grocery shopping.
The Everyday Rewards credit card is linked to Woolies' loyalty scheme that provides 4c-a-litre fuel discount vouchers, as well as Qantas points, for all supermarket purchases above $30.
In addition, users will earn one Qantas point for every dollar spent on the card, so that shoppers using the card in Woolworths supermarkets will earn double the number of points as they would if merely using the existing loyalty scheme.
The new card, which carries an $89 annual fee, follows last year's launch of the Everyday Money credit card, which rewards cardholders with Woolworths shopping vouchers. Both cards are provided by HSBC.
Dhun Karai, Woolworths general manager of financial services, said the company had received 250,000 applications since launching the earlier card.
